Hello there. What is the best way to travel to the parties on Zanzibar in a budget-friendly way? Thank you!

Hello Emely! Thank you for contacting us.

If you are on a budget but ready to party,I suggest you to take piki piki. Piki pikis are local motorcycles. In the east coast parties are happening every day on a different location somewhere around Paje and Jambiani so when the night falls many piki pikis are available. Prices surely increase in the night but to give example, piki piki from Jambiani to Paje should not cost more than 5000 TZS. But, be careful when taking piki piki because sometimes drivers are not being careful or driving safe enough. You should always ask for a helmet and ask the driver to drive slowly and safe. Also check that his piki piki has lights turned on. If you feel like you would prefer taking a car,to give example, car from Jambiani to Paje should not cost more than 15000-20000 TZS. Distance from Jambiani to Paje is around 15 mins ride so that can be your time-price orientation for other locations. I also suggest you to neggotiate the price because the first price they offer you will probably be higher than it should be. Piki pikis from Kendwa to Nungwi are also around 5000 TZS,but if you go to Nungwi from Kidoti, then it is around 7000 TZS. If you are moving around Stone Town, during the day and afternoon you can take dala dalas(local buses) that are about 400 TZS,and in the evening and night there are piki pikis for about 3000 TZS. For more questions, don’t hesitate to ask,we are always reachable. Be safe and have fun!
